The Acer Aspire 5 17 is a more affordable option with good general performance, suitable for daily tasks and productivity with its larger screen and efficient processor. However, if you're looking for a laptop with higher performance for gaming, 3D applications, or engineering software, the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 will be a better choice despite being somewhat more expensive. It comes with a more powerful processor and dedicated graphics card, extra memory, and a higher refresh rate display, which contributes to a smoother visual experience, although it is slightly heavier and may have a shorter battery life due to its performance-oriented hardware. How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the Lenovo Legion Slim 5 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"The Lenovo Legion Slim 5 Gen 8 acknowledges that a gaming laptop doesn’t have to be as thick as possible and can still ensure adequate cooling when the muscles need flexing. To this end, in the Slim 5 Gen 8, it finds a neat balance of refined, trimmed-down design that still lets its internals cruise (even above their max power ratings). Lenovo then added in some high-end build quality with an altogether excellent keyboard that’s useful for both work and play."
