The Acer Aspire 5 17 will cost less and offers good general use performance, has a full-size keyboard, and a reasonable portability for its screen size, with average battery life. However, the Lenovo Legion 5 Pro offers significantly stronger performance, especially for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks, with higher RAM and a more powerful GPU. It also has better screen resolution and color accuracy, and it's a suitable choice for intensive gaming. The downside is its higher price and slightly lower portability due to its increased weight and reduced battery life. Consider the Acer for regular tasks and the Lenovo if you require high performance for more demanding applications and can manage with shorter unplugged times. Give Feedback

The Lenovo Legion Pro 5 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Acer Aspire 5 17's fair screen quality is due to its adequate resolution and brightness, while the Lenovo Legion Pro 5's very good screen quality benefits from higher resolution and brightness, making it clearer and more vibrant. When considering engineering and design, the Lenovo prevails with very good screen quality because it offers a wider color range which is critical for precise color work, whereas the Acer only provides fair color coverage. Meanwhile, for gaming and 3D applications where fast refresh rates are crucial, both the Acer and Lenovo fall short, offering lower refresh rates which could lead to less fluid motion and responsiveness during fast-paced scenes.

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"It doesn't quite match its Legion Pro 7i sibling as an Editors' Choice winner, but Lenovo's AMD-powered Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 is a stylish, well-built gaming laptop with solid performance at both 1080p and its sharper native resolution. It's cheaper than some comparably equipped machines and better than some similarly priced ones. That's a recipe for success, even without its frequent availability of discounts or sales. A brighter screen and longer battery life would be nice, but even as is the Legion Pro 5 earns a solid recommendation."
