If you prioritize performance and storage space, choose the Acer Aspire 5 17 with its better processor and larger storage. However, its larger screen and weight make it less portable compared to the HP 15" Laptop. The HP is more budget-friendly and lighter, suitable for carrying around, but it has lower storage capacity and processing power, which might be a constraint for demanding tasks. Both offer similar screen quality, but for tasks like engineering, 3D work, or machine learning, the Acer might better meet your needs, while the HP is sufficient for general use. Give Feedback

The Acer Aspire 5 17 is good for general use, while the HP 15" Laptop is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 5 17 garners appreciation for general use with a better processor and larger screen, providing a comfortable viewing experience, yet is less portable and has a shorter battery life than the HP 15" Laptop, which offers greater portability and longer battery use but has a less powerful processor and smaller storage capacity. Additionally, the HP 15" boasts a superior heat management and a higher portability score, factors which could make it more appealing for users frequently on-the-go, despite its lower general use ranking compared to the Acer Aspire 5 17.

The Acer Aspire 5 17 has a better screen than the HP 15" Laptop for software development, and content creation.
For general use, such as browsing the web or watching videos, both the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the HP 15" Laptop offer fair screen quality due to adequate resolution and brightness, but they may not stand out in terms of display sharpness or exceptional color quality. Engineering and design professionals might find the screens on both models to be serviceable for basic tasks, but limited color gamut coverage could prevent precise color work required for advanced projects. Meanwhile, gamers and 3D designers may be disappointed with both laptops, as their modest refresh rates and screen specifications fail to deliver the smooth motion and crisp detail needed for a truly immersive experience.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers Acer Aspire 5 17 to be only fair for gaming and AI, while the HP 15" Laptop is poor.
The Acer Aspire 5 17 is equipped with an Iris Xe graphics unit which has a slightly better performance than the HP 15" Laptop's UHD Graphics, but both models have standard screen refresh rates of 60Hz, which limits their gaming and 3D capabilities. While the Iris Xe in the Acer may offer a modest boost for gaming and 3D tasks compared to the HP's UHD Graphics, neither laptop is ideal for high-end gaming due to their similar refresh rates and the GPU being the most crucial factor for gaming performance.

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the HP 15" Laptop compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"Chances are high that the HP 15 is one of the first laptops to pop up when you search for an inexpensive notebook. Indeed, its price tag is very tempting for many, and of course, this is the reason for its popularity. However, the HP 15" suffers from poor performance due to low power consumption. On the bright side, one of the good things about it is the port selection. On the inside, this includes two SODIMM slots for memory, an M.2 PCIe x4 slot for storage, and a SATA drive bay. However, the TN panel, and mediocre input devices are not ideal."
