The Acer Aspire 5 17 is less expensive and offers portability with decent performance for general use. It has a larger screen size which is beneficial for productivity and media consumption. On the other hand, the Gigabyte Aorus 5 is more expensive but delivers higher performance for 3D tasks, machine learning, and gaming. It also has better overall build quality and features like a high refresh rate display and a backlit RGB keyboard. Choose the Acer if you prioritize a larger display and value for money, and the Gigabyte if you need top performance and plan on intensive tasks or gaming. Give Feedback

The Gigabyte Aorus 5 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
When considering the Acer Aspire 5 17 for general use, the screen may be adequate due to its resolution and brightness, but you may find its color accuracy lacking, which is more critical for engineering and design tasks that often require precise color representation. The Gigabyte Aorus 5, with better screen quality, would serve well both for general use and for professionals in engineering and design due to more accurate colors and wider color gamut coverage. However, despite these strengths, both laptops may fall short for gaming and 3D work because they don't have the high refresh rates preferred for smooth visuals in fast-paced scenarios.

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the Gigabyte Aorus 5 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"The Gigabyte Aorus 5 SE4 is a capable mainstream gaming notebook that will run the latest PC games with aplomb. However, it's not your stereotypical flashy gaming PC. Gigabyte has added some interesting tweaks. For example, the webcam placement and its Microsoft Azure AI tool — to automatically switch between power modes — are unusual for this genre. But more importantly, the pricing is fairly competitive and reasonable."
