The Acer Aspire 5 17 offers a larger screen and better value for general use, with a lower price point and adequate performance for everyday tasks. Its 17.3-inch display is ideal for those who prefer more screen real estate and don't require the highest pixel density. However, it has a lower refresh rate and less color-accurate screen, which might not be ideal for more visually demanding tasks or gaming. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED boasts a superior OLED display with higher resolution, color accuracy, and refresh rate, making it exceptional for media consumption and tasks that benefit from vibrant colors and deep contrasts. It also has a more compact and portable design, along with better performance due to its Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and dedicated Intel Arc graphics, which is beneficial for more demanding applications in creative work or light gaming. The tradeoff is its higher price and smaller screen size compared to the Acer. If portability, screen quality, and performance for tasks like photo editing or light gaming are your priorities, the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED is the better choice. However, if you're looking for a more budget-friendly option with a larger screen for general use, the Acer Aspire 5 17 is the way to go. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Marcus Schwarten | March 2021
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."

"The Asus Vivobook S 15 OLED excels as a capable work machine at an affordable price. It offers commendable performance, thanks to its 12th Gen Intel chip, delivers quality on-screen entertainment with its 15.6-inch OLED display, and can (kind of) get you through a full day of work. Oh, and its special Asus Antibacterial Guard is a nice touch for those who like a clean laptop."
