If you're looking for cost efficiency and basic computing tasks, the Acer Aspire 5 17 offers a lower price with adequate performance for everyday use, long battery life, and a large 17-inch screen. However, it lacks the power for more demanding applications. On the other hand, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16, while more expensive, delivers high performance suitable for intensive tasks such as gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning, thanks to its superior processor, graphics card, and higher resolution display. Both laptops are similar in weight, but the ASUS offers additional features for professional and gaming use, with better heat management and fan noise control. Give Feedback

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 and Acer Aspire 5 17 are both good for general use, though the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 is somewhat better.
The Acer Aspire 5 17 is suitable for general use because it offers balanced features such as satisfactory screen quality and battery life, combined with its larger screen and decent portability, making it an ideal choice for everyday tasks and entertainment. Meanwhile, the ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 excels in more demanding applications due to its superior CPU and double the RAM, better screen quality, and higher-grade components like the advanced GPU, although it is slightly less portable and has shorter battery life, positioning it well for high-end gaming and intensive tasks while still handling general use comfortably.

The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 5 17's display offers adequate resolution and brightness for everyday tasks like web browsing and word processing, but its color range might not be wide enough for professional design work, nor does it have the high refresh rate desired by gamers. The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16, with its sharper display and superior color accuracy, would satisfy both general users and those in engineering or design who require true-to-life colors for their work. However, despite its robust capabilities, the M16's lower refresh rate could make it less attractive for gaming or 3D applications, where smoother motion is key.

"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"The ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 is not yet as optimised as its predecessor. Compared to the previous gen, performance and efficiency have improved significantly. What's more, the wonderful, Mini-LED Nebula display is a contender for the main highlight and almost manages to put the CPU and GPU in the shade. We already found its predecessor to be a well-rounded and well-optimised gaming machine. Generally, but not unequivocally, that also applies to the new Asus M16. Similar to most of the current, new laptops, we are dealing with a double generational leap in terms of the CPU and GPU. However, this change doesn't always run smoothly."
