If performance is paramount, especially for tasks like 3D rendering, machine learning, or games, the Acer Swift X (2022) with its superior processor and dedicated graphics card is the better choice. However, it comes at a higher price. On the other hand, for everyday tasks like web browsing, document editing, and less intensive applications, the Acer Aspire 5 17 is a more budget-friendly option. It also has a larger screen, which may be beneficial for multitasking and productivity but can detract from portability. Both laptops have similar storage and battery life, yet the Swift X is significantly lighter, making it easier to carry around. Give Feedback

The Acer Swift X has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 17 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the Aspire 5 and Swift X provide satisfactory visuals due to their adequate resolution and brightness, ensuring comfortable viewing for everyday tasks like web browsing and document editing. Engineering and design professionals will find the Swift X more appealing because its display covers a wider color gamut, crucial for precision in color-sensitive work. However, neither laptop is ideal for gaming or 3D applications as they lack the high refresh rates needed for smooth, responsive visuals that these activities typically require.

How the Acer Aspire 5 17 and the Acer Swift X (2022) compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 17 laptop shows the expected strengths in the test. Besides the usual high build quality, the configuration convinces in most benchmarks and tests. The combination of CPU, GPU, and RAM is absolutely sufficient for the everyday office and browsing tasks of a laptop. It also renders the odd game passably if the requirements aren't too high. We liked the matte display in the test as well as the fairly manageable dimensions despite the screen size. It can also be used outdoors, even if it's certainly not a laptop designed for mobility."
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
