When deciding between the Acer Aspire 5 15 and the MSI Pulse GL66, consider your primary use case for the laptop. If your focus is on casual computing, such as browsing, office tasks, and media consumption, the Acer Aspire 5 is less expensive and offers solid performance for everyday use. The lower price of the Acer also means you're likely to get sufficient battery life for general use. However, if you need more power for demanding tasks such as gaming, 3D rendering, or intensive engineering software, the MSI Pulse GL66 comes with a higher-performance processor and dedicated graphics card, which can better handle those needs. Bear in mind, though, that this additional power comes at the cost of portability due to the MSI Pulse GL66's heavier weight and typically higher price. Give Feedback

The MSI Pulse GL66 is good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 5 15 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 5 15 suits engineering and design tasks well due to its capable CPU and integrated Iris Xe graphics, adequate RAM, and a high-resolution IPS screen, making it a strong contender for productivity with reliable portability. In comparison, the MSI Pulse GL66 excels with a more powerful CPU, a high-end dedicated GPU, and a similar quality display, offering superior performance for engineering software and design work that demands resource-intensive computations and graphics processing, though at the expense of reduced battery life and increased weight.

The Acer Aspire 5 15 has a better screen than the MSI Pulse GL66 for software development, while the MSI Pulse GL66 has a better screen for general use, gaming and AI, and engineering and design.
Both the Acer Aspire 5 15 and MSI Pulse GL66 have screen qualities that are adequate for everyday tasks due to their respectable resolution and brightness, but they might not stand out in terms of sharpness or vibrancy compared to higher-end panels. For engineering and design, where accurate color representation is crucial, their screens fall short as they don't cover professional color gamuts comprehensively, which could impact the precision of design work. When it comes to 3D and gaming, the lack of high refresh rates on these laptops means less fluid motion, and while the resolution and panel type are suitable, they are not optimized for the fast-paced visuals that gamers often seek.

How the Acer Aspire 5 15 and the MSI Pulse GL66 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 15 is a good value office laptop with reasonable battery life. The combination of slim exterior, relatively low weight (approx. 1.7 kg) and 8 hour real-life battery runtime makes the Acer Aspire a truly mobile laptop. The modest Tiger Lake processor supports this area and simultaneously ensures an affordable price point. The Aspire produces little noise and stays cool. The screen (FHD, IPS) might not win any prizes but is entirely appropriate for the price."
"The MSI Pulse GL66 has a lot of potential for improvement. Although the RTX 3060 is only able to use 105 watts, we still liked the gaming performance, particularly since this also makes the Pulse comfortably efficient but not slow by any means. Neither the dark display with its lame response times, nor USB 2.0 or the lack of Thunderbolt will please real gamers. The use of a sticker factory seal, which is at least questionable, also won't inspire any enthusiasm. It is obvious that the laptop is really designed for price-conscious gamers."
