The Acer Aspire 5 15 has a better screen than the HP Stream 14" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
The Acer Aspire 5 15 offers a decent balance of resolution and brightness suitable for everyday tasks and basic engineering work, but its limited color range and standard refresh rate hold it back for high-end design and fast-paced gaming. The HP Stream 14" has lower resolution and brightness, which makes it less ideal even for general tasks and viewing details required in engineering, while also falling short for gaming and design due to poor color accuracy and a basic refresh rate. Both laptops are not the best fit for gaming and advanced 3D work due to their insufficient refresh rates and other display characteristics that gamers and professional designers typically rely on.

How the Acer Aspire 5 15 and the HP Stream 14" compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 15 is a good value office laptop with reasonable battery life. The combination of slim exterior, relatively low weight (approx. 1.7 kg) and 8 hour real-life battery runtime makes the Acer Aspire a truly mobile laptop. The modest Tiger Lake processor supports this area and simultaneously ensures an affordable price point. The Aspire produces little noise and stays cool. The screen (FHD, IPS) might not win any prizes but is entirely appropriate for the price."
"With half of the main system memory and a fraction of the storage that we recommend in any budget Windows laptop, the HP Stream 14 does not impress. Perhaps it doesn't need to, depending on your reference point. For the price, you're getting a functional laptop with Windows 10, which already places the HP Stream 14 above most Chromebooks on that merit alone. Still, in this price range, you can't do much worse, but you can do better. In fact, for just $100 more, you can grab the much superior budget option, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14."
