The Acer Aspire 5 is more wallet-friendly and has a decent processor for general use, while the Eluktronics RP-15 costs more but offers a better screen and a more powerful processor combination for 3D tasks, machine learning, and gaming. The Acer is lighter and could be preferable if you prioritize portability and value, but if your work involves engineering or visually intensive tasks and you're not as concerned about price, the RP-15 may be the better choice despite its additional weight. The Eluktronics RP-15 is very good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 5 15 is only fair.
The Eluktronics RP-15 is better suited for engineering and design tasks due to its superior processor (AMD Ryzen 7 vs. Intel i5), more powerful GPU (Nvidia RTX 4060 vs. Iris Xe), higher resolution and refresh rate screen, and better color coverage, which is crucial for design accuracy. The Acer Aspire 5 15, while lighter and thinner, offers less computational power and screen quality, which are critical for complex engineering software and detailed design work.

The Eluktronics RP-15 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
For general use, the Eluktronics RP-15's very good screen quality is due to its superior resolution and brightness, offering clearer images and better visibility in various lighting conditions, while the Acer Aspire 5's fair performance stems from its adequate display that meets basic needs without excelling. In engineering and design, the Eluktronics RP-15 again stands out with its very good color coverage, which ensures precise color representation crucial for detailed work, unlike the Acer Aspire 5, which has only fair performance and may not display colors as accurately. However, both laptops are rated poorly for Gaming and 3D because despite their other qualities, they lack the high refresh rates needed for smooth motion rendering in fast-paced visuals.

How the Acer Aspire 5 15 and the Eluktronics RP-15 compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 15 is a good value office laptop with reasonable battery life. The combination of slim exterior, relatively low weight (approx. 1.7 kg) and 8 hour real-life battery runtime makes the Acer Aspire a truly mobile laptop. The modest Tiger Lake processor supports this area and simultaneously ensures an affordable price point. The Aspire produces little noise and stays cool. The screen (FHD, IPS) might not win any prizes but is entirely appropriate for the price."
"To conclude, I’m genuinely impressed with Eluktronics and what they have been able to deliver with the RP-15. You see this is all about maximizing performance, cooling, and giving users the most flexible I/O, and then wrapping it into a chassis that doesn’t feel super cheap. Let’s also not forget the price point, I think they have really nailed it in that department."
