The Acer Aspire 5 is more affordable and could be a good choice for everyday tasks and work. It offers a larger, but lower resolution screen, which might be preferable for multitasking and media consumption. The Acer Swift X, in contrast, is pricier but packs a more powerful processor and a dedicated graphics card, making it better suited for intensive tasks like video editing, 3D rendering, or gaming. It has a higher resolution screen in a smaller form factor for sharper images and better portability. Battery life will vary with usage, but the Swift X should generally last longer on a single charge due to a slightly larger battery and more efficient components. Give Feedback

The Acer Swift X (2022) and Acer Aspire 5 15 are both only fair for gaming and AI, though the Acer Swift X (2022) is somewhat better.
The Acer Aspire 5 15 has an integrated Intel Iris Xe GPU, which provides moderate graphics performance for gaming and 3D applications, while the Acer Swift X (2022) includes a dedicated Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU that delivers better gaming and 3D capabilities. However, both laptops have similar screen refresh rates of 60Hz, which can limit the smoothness in fast-paced games despite the Swift X's superior GPU.

The Acer Swift X (2022) is good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 5 15 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 5 15, with its adequate screen quality and good heat management, is equipped for engineering and design but its integrated graphics may limit performance in visually intensive tasks. The Acer Swift X (2022), however, offers a more powerful CPU, dedicated GPU, and a superior screen resolution which makes it better suited for demanding engineering software and design work, though at the cost of higher operating noise and a slight dip in portability due to its more robust hardware.

The Acer Swift X has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 5 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Acer Swift X excels with a brighter display and higher resolution, which make for crisper text and more vivid images, surpassing the Aspire's more basic screen. In engineering and design, the Swift X's superior color gamut coverage ensures more accurate color representation, a significant advantage over the Aspire 5's limited color range. However, both fall short for gaming and 3D tasks due to their lower refresh rates, which can't deliver the fluid visuals required for a smooth and immersive experience in fast-paced scenes.

How the Acer Aspire 5 15 and the Acer Swift X (2022) compare to other laptops
"The Acer Aspire 5 15 is a good value office laptop with reasonable battery life. The combination of slim exterior, relatively low weight (approx. 1.7 kg) and 8 hour real-life battery runtime makes the Acer Aspire a truly mobile laptop. The modest Tiger Lake processor supports this area and simultaneously ensures an affordable price point. The Aspire produces little noise and stays cool. The screen (FHD, IPS) might not win any prizes but is entirely appropriate for the price."
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
