The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is less expensive and more portable with longer battery life, suitable for general use with a touchscreen and fanless design for silent operation. However, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro offers superior performance suitable for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks; it has a better screen for color work and fast motion, a more powerful processor, greater storage and RAM, dedicated graphics, and additional features like a backlit keyboard and hardware ray tracing. The IdeaPad is heavier and has a shorter battery life, so it's less portable and costs more. Give Feedback

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro is good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is only fair.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro outshines the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 with its more powerful AMD processor, larger RAM, and higher quality screen, alongside better portability and battery life, thus making it better suited for general use. The Aspire 3 Spin 14, with a fairer price point, offers adequate performance for basic tasks, a touch-enabled screen, and silent operation, but falls short in terms of processing power and display quality compared to the IdeaPad 5 Pro.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro is only fair for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 has an integrated Intel UHD Graphics GPU and a screen refresh rate of 60Hz, which are modest for light gaming and 3D applications but may struggle with demanding games. In contrast, the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro includes a dedicated Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU and offers a higher screen refresh rate of 120Hz, making it more capable for smoother gaming and 3D performance.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro is good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is poor.
The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro is better suited for engineering and design because it has a more powerful CPU and GPU, double the RAM, and a higher quality screen with better color coverage and contrast than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14, which, while lighter and exhibits silent operation, has a less capable CPU and GPU and lower screen quality, making it fair for such tasks. However, the Acer's lower weight and silent, fanless design may appeal to those prioritizing portability and a quiet environment.

The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 offers sufficient resolution and brightness for everyday tasks, but its color range isn't wide enough for professional design work, and its refresh rate is too low for smooth 3D rendering or fast-paced gaming. The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro, with its higher resolution and brightness, provides a sharper and more vibrant display for both general use and detailed engineering tasks, although like the Acer, it falls short in the refresh rate needed for gaming and 3D applications. Both laptops would be suitable for users focused on productivity and creative work, but not ideal for those primarily interested in high-performance gaming or 3D animation.

How the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"The Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro turns out a successful all-rounder that, aside from 3D applications, always strikes a good or very good figure. This begins with the elegant metal case that isn't particularly light but fairly robust, giving a high-quality impression. The input devices are also better than those of many competitors. Both the keyboard and the touchpad are attractive and comfortable. In addition, the performance of the Ryzen 5 6600HS is easily able to keep up with the Intel competitors."
