The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 offers better performance than the HP Stream 14, with a more powerful processor and higher quality display, suitable for tasks like photo editing or multitasking. It also doubles as a tablet, adding versatility. However, if you're on a tight budget, the HP Stream 14 is more affordable and offers longer battery life, which could be perfect for basic tasks like web browsing, office applications, and media consumption where top-tier performance isn't crucial. The HP is lighter, making it easier to carry around, but its display isn't as sharp or vibrant as the Acer's. Give Feedback

The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 has a better screen than the HP Stream 14" for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
If you prioritize screen quality for everyday tasks like browsing and watching videos, the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14's screen is adequate, while the HP Stream 14 may disappoint with its lesser quality display. When it comes to engineering and design, the Aspire 3 Spin is just passable since color accuracy matters, but for the HP Stream, the lack of wide color gamut coverage could hinder detailed design work. For gaming and 3D applications, the Acer's screen falls short due to its refresh rate and the HP Stream even more so, making neither ideal for fast-paced or visually intensive tasks.

The HP Stream 14" and Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 are both only fair for general use.
The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 offers a moderate performance CPU and RAM combination, which is adequate for general use, and has a high-quality IPS touchscreen, making it versatile for both laptop and tablet use, but storage might be limited for heavy users. In comparison, the HP Stream 14" offers more storage and RAM which may benefit heavy multitaskers, but its lower resolution, non-IPS screen could detract from the visual experience, and while it boasts a solid build and excellent heat management, its overall performance is constrained by a more basic CPU.

The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and HP Stream 14" are both poor for gaming and AI.
The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 offers fair gaming and 3D capabilities with its Intel UHD Graphics Xe, which perform moderately well for light gaming, and an IPS panel that provides better screen quality compared to the HP Stream 14's older TN panel and less capable Intel UHD Graphics 600, resulting in its poor gaming and 3D performance. Both laptops have the same screen refresh rate, but the Acer's improved GPU and screen quality, including better color coverage and brightness, contribute to a more suitable gaming experience than the HP Stream 14.

The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and HP Stream 14" are both poor for engineering and design.
The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 offers a higher pixel density, a better screen aspect ratio suitable for multitasking, and acceptable processor and graphics for mainstream engineering and design tasks, while the HP Stream 14" has lesser screen quality and uses a processor and graphics that are less capable of handling such tasks efficiently. Additionally, while both devices are fairly portable and have good battery life, the increased screen resolution and better aspect ratio of the Acer contribute to a more conducive environment for engineering and design work compared to the HP's lower screen quality and less powerful hardware.

How the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and the HP Stream 14" compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"With half of the main system memory and a fraction of the storage that we recommend in any budget Windows laptop, the HP Stream 14 does not impress. Perhaps it doesn't need to, depending on your reference point. For the price, you're getting a functional laptop with Windows 10, which already places the HP Stream 14 above most Chromebooks on that merit alone. Still, in this price range, you can't do much worse, but you can do better. In fact, for just $100 more, you can grab the much superior budget option, the Lenovo IdeaPad 1 14."
