The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is often significantly less expensive than the HP EliteBook 845 G9 and offers budget-friendly features, such as a touchscreen, decent portability, and silent, fanless operation. However, it has lower storage, less memory, and a less powerful processor compared to the EliteBook, which means it's less suitable for performance-intensive tasks like 3D rendering or engineering work. The EliteBook, while pricier, has better build quality, a more powerful processor, more memory, and significantly greater storage, enhancing its performance for professional use and multitasking. If battery life is a concern, the EliteBook also offers longer typical usage time. Consider the EliteBook if your work requires more rigorous computing and you value build quality, whereas the Aspire could be a better choice for everyday tasks without breaking the bank. The HP EliteBook 845 G9 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
When considering the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and the HP EliteBook 845 G9 for general use, the HP model provides a better visual experience due to its higher resolution and brighter display, while the Acer's screen might seem adequate but not as crisp or vibrant. For engineering and design work that demands accurate color representation, the HP EliteBook's wider color gamuts, encompassing a broader range of colors, make it superior to the Acer, which offers fair color reproduction but may fall short for professional design tasks. On the other hand, gamers and those involved in 3D work will find both laptops lacking since neither provides a high refresh rate, which is crucial for smooth visuals in fast-paced scenes, though the better resolution and panel type on the HP slightly mitigate this issue.

How the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 and the HP EliteBook 845 G9 compare to other laptops
Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
"The high-end version of the HP EliteBook 845 G9 with a Ryzen 9 PRO 6950HS, 32GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD packs a lot of power, but is still quiet and cool enough to operate in noise-sensitive environments. Quiet, cool and drawing on a massive 40 watts from the APU at the same time, however, is not possible. The 14-incher only has a single-fan solution and it only just manages to keep an near unthrottled Ryzen 9 in check."
