The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is a budget-friendly 2-in-1 laptop with a versatile touchscreen and a compact, fanless design, making it silent and portable, ideal for general use and light tasks. It has a decent screen for everyday use, but the performance is limited, so it's not suitable for intensive gaming or demanding engineering tasks. The battery life is good, ensuring several hours of typical usage, and it's quite portable due to its smaller size and weight. On the other hand, the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED offers a significant performance boost with its more powerful processor and dedicated graphics card, making it suitable for gaming, 3D rendering, and machine learning tasks. The OLED screen provides vibrant colors and deep contrasts, which is excellent for media consumption and creative work. It's also well-equipped with connectivity options and has a backlit keyboard with a fingerprint reader for added convenience. However, it's more expensive, has a larger footprint, and the battery life is shorter compared to the Acer. In summary, if you prioritize portability, budget, and versatility for general use, the Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is a solid choice. But if you need stronger performance for gaming or professional work and value a superior display and connectivity, the ASUS Vivobook S 15 OLED is the way to go, despite its higher price and bulkier design. Rtings

Olivier Martin, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | November 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 Spin 14 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and its compact design makes it easy to carry around. The battery lasts around seven hours of light use, so you only have to plug it in for a short time to get through a typical school day. The overall user experience is so-so; the display looks sharp but dim, and the touchpad is fairly responsive, albeit small."
