The Acer Aspire 3 15 is more budget-friendly and offers a bigger screen, suitable for those who are price-sensitive and prefer a larger display for general use. However, it has less storage, lower processing power, and the graphics capabilities are not as strong, making it less suited for intensive tasks like engineering, 3D rendering, and machine learning. On the other hand, the Dell Inspiron 14 7425, while more expensive, provides better performance, more storage, double the RAM, and a more powerful processor, which can handle demanding applications and multitasking more efficiently. Its smaller screen with higher resolution and a touchscreen feature makes it more versatile for professional use. It also has a better portability score, implying easier transportation. If you do frequent video calls or virtual meetings, the Inspiron also has a higher webcam score. Consider how you prioritize price vs. performance, screen size vs. resolution, and general use vs. specialized tasks when making your choice. Give Feedback

The Dell Inspiron 14 7425 is good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is only fair.
The Dell Inspiron 14 7425 outperforms the Acer Aspire 3 15 as it houses a more powerful CPU and double the RAM for better multitasking, higher resolution and brighter screen for better visual experience, a 2-in-1 convertible feature offering additional versatility, and a larger battery providing longer usage times. However, the Acer has a built-in number pad which may be more favorable for those who frequently input numbers, and it offers silent operation, advantageous in noise-sensitive environments.

The Dell Inspiron 14 7425 is only fair for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The Dell Inspiron 14 7425's superior engineering and design capabilities stem from its better CPU and GPU, which are crucial for demanding tasks, twice the RAM for smoother multitasking, and a higher-resolution screen that also offers touchscreen functionality. On the other hand, the Acer Aspire 3 15, while fair for such tasks, has a less powerful CPU and GPU, less RAM, and a lower resolution screen, which may not handle intensive engineering software as efficiently.

The Dell Inspiron 14 7425 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for content creation, and software development.
For general use, both the Acer Aspire 3 15 and Dell Inspiron 14 7425 have screens with adequate resolution and brightness, but their panel type may not provide the best viewing angles or color accuracy. In engineering and design, users often need precise color representation, and both laptops have decent coverage of professional color gamuts but may lack the full spectrum required for high-end tasks. When it comes to gaming and 3D, the refresh rate on both laptops is lower than what's ideal for smooth motion, and while resolution and panel type are acceptable, they do not cater to the high standards that gaming and complex 3D work demand.

Although they have very similar scores, PerfectRec considers Dell Inspiron 14 7425 to be only fair for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 is equipped with an AMD Radeon GPU and a standard 60Hz screen refresh rate, resulting in fair gaming and 3D performance; however, the Dell Inspiron 14 7425, with its integrated AMD Ryzen Vega GPU, accomplishes comparable fair performance despite the smaller screen size, higher resolution, and the same screen refresh rate. While both laptops will manage gaming and 3D tasks adequately, neither is ideally suited for high-end gaming due to these GPU and screen refresh rate limitations, but the Dell's slightly better screen quality and more powerful CPU might offer a marginally smoother experience in some scenarios.

How the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the Dell Inspiron 14 7425 compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"Overall, this Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 offers a lot to like, especially at its oft-discounted price of $800. It’s a sturdy laptop with strong performance, a convertible touchscreen, loud speakers, and a convenient fingerprint reader. But the trade-offs you’ll make in pursuit of that lower price—most notably the dim display and stiff trackpad—might just keep you from outright loving it."
