The Acer Aspire 3 15 is a budget-friendly option that is lighter and has a longer battery life for general use, making it suitable for basic tasks and good for carrying around. In contrast, the Dell Alienware m17 R5 is designed for high-performance needs like gaming, 3D rendering, and engineering, with a much more powerful processor, graphics card, and additional features like hardware ray tracing and a high refresh rate display. However, the Alienware is more expensive, heavier, and has a shorter battery life, which might make it less convenient for frequent travel. Give Feedback

The Dell Alienware m17 R5 is good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is only fair.
The Acer Aspire 3 15, while adequate for everyday tasks, has a less powerful CPU and less RAM compared to the Dell Alienware m17 R5, leading to slower performance especially in demanding applications; however, it's lighter and typically has better battery life, making it more portable. The Alienware, on the other hand, boasts superior screen quality, performance, and thermals for gaming or intensive tasks, but this comes at the cost of reduced battery life and increased weight, making it less convenient for on-the-go use.

The Dell Alienware m17 R5 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 3 15, with adequate resolution and brightness, provides sufficient screen quality for everyday tasks but falls short for specialized activities like gaming due to its lower refresh rate, which can hinder the smoothness of fast-paced visuals. In contrast, the Dell Alienware m17 R5's superior brightness and resolution enhance general use and engineering tasks, offering a more vivid and detailed display needed for precision work, although color range parameters critical for engineering may not be top-tier. However, for gaming and 3D applications, even with better panel types and resolutions, the screen quality of both laptops is hampered by refresh rates that do not meet the high standards required for optimal gaming experiences.

How the Acer Aspire 3 15 and the Dell Alienware m17 R5 compare to other laptops
Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"Overall, the all-AMD system in the Alienware m17 R5 is impressive, especially the graphics performance. However, various driver issues and unnecessary inconsistencies prevent us from truly enjoying such a potent gaming machine. In addition to strong 3D performance, we particularly like the build quality, the fairly bright UHD display with high color space coverage, and the fact that the gamer is often quiet when not under load and also rather quieter than some competitors under load."
