The Acer Aspire 3 15 is a budget-friendly choice with lower performance than the Apple MacBook Air 15 (2023) but is cost-effective if you're looking for a laptop for general use. The MacBook Air, with its sharper display, longer battery life, and lightweight design, is significantly more expensive but better suited for more demanding tasks and has a higher build quality. The Acer has ample port selection and a number pad, which the MacBook lacks, but the MacBook offers better screen quality and modern features like a fingerprint reader. If your priority is portability and higher performance for engineering or creative work, the MacBook Air would be the better choice. If you're concerned about price and need a laptop with a number pad for data entry, the Acer Aspire 3 is a more affordable option. Give Feedback

The Apple MacBook Air 15 has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use, AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Acer Aspire provides a standard experience with a balance of resolution and brightness, which is suitable for everyday tasks, while the MacBook Air offers a sharper, brighter display making text and images more vivid. In engineering and design, the MacBook Air stands out due to its superior color accuracy and wider color gamut, allowing for precise color work which is less optimal on the Acer's display. However, neither is ideal for 3D work as both lack high refresh rates, which are crucial for smooth rendering of fast-paced visuals, though higher resolution and better panel technology on the MacBook may offer some advantage.

Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"The Apple MacBook Air 15 is boringly good. The new MacBook Air 15 is a very good, but also boring device, because apart from the larger screen and the higher price, there are no differences compared to the smaller MacBook Air M2 from last year. No new processor, no additional ports, just the usual basic hardware - but the overall package is extremely good and it simply works. Above all, the lack of fans is an aspect that should not be underestimated in everyday use. In our opinion, the Air could be a lot better, but Apple goes easy on itself here."
