If budget is a primary concern and general use is your goal, the Acer Aspire 3 15 can save you money and is suitable for everyday tasks. However, if you need higher performance for activities such as engineering, 3D work, or gaming, the Acer Swift X (2022) with its powerful processor and graphics card would be a better choice, at the expense of a higher cost. The Swift X also has a more portable design and a higher resolution, brighter display which could be beneficial for creative professionals. In contrast, the Aspire 3 is heavier and offers less visual fidelity but may provide quieter operation since it uses less powerful components which generate less heat and noise. Keep in mind that the Swift X has a better battery life, adding to its portability advantages. It's important to consider these differences in line with your specific needs and how much you are willing to invest. Give Feedback

The Acer Swift X (2022) is only fair for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 3 15 is poor.
The Acer Aspire 3 15 is fair for gaming and 3D despite a basic AMD Radeon 610M GPU and 60Hz screen refresh rate, which limit advanced gaming and 3D performance but may suffice for entry-level use. The Acer Swift X (2022), on the other hand, sports a more capable Nvidia RTX 3050 GPU and similarly a 60Hz refresh rate, making it better suited for more demanding gaming and 3D tasks while still facing limitations for high-end games requiring faster refresh rates.

The Acer Swift X has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Acer Swift X stands out with a brighter, sharper display providing clearer text and more vibrant visuals, which enhances activities like web browsing, document editing, and media consumption. When it comes to engineering and design, the Swift X's display covers a wider color gamut, crucial for accurately rendering colors in professional photo editing and visual design software. However, both laptops have screens with lower refresh rates, which means they won't be as smooth for gaming and 3D applications where higher refresh rates can greatly improve the visual experience.

Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and Yannick Khong | March 2023
"The Acer Aspire 3 is okay for school use. It feels reasonably well-built, and it's easy to carry around. The display looks decently sharp and provides plenty of space for multitasking, but it doesn't get bright enough to combat glare. Its Intel Core i3-N305 CPU and integrated graphics can only handle simple tasks, like text processing, web browsing, and video playback, so it isn't ideal for students in more technical fields like 3D graphics. Unfortunately, the battery lasts only around six to seven hours of light use."
"The Swift X is an Acer for entry-level gaming. With the entry-level graphics chip, our Acer not only beats every single current AMD and Intel iGPU, but also Intel's dGPU Iris Xe Max. However, despite being a GDDR6 version, the GTX does not match the expectations set by its own counterparts from our database. This may be a result of the single fan, which only produces moderate noise levels under load. The performance level of the thin and light 1.4 kg (~3.09 lbs) 14-inch laptop is impressive nonetheless."
