Choosing between the Acer Aspire 3 14 and the Dell XPS 13 Plus depends heavily on your priorities. If you prioritize affordability and battery life, prefer a slightly larger screen, and require basic to moderate computing power, the Acer could suit your needs. On the other hand, if you're looking for a high-resolution touchscreen with superior color accuracy, a backlit keyboard with additional features like a fingerprint reader and facial recognition, and are willing to invest more for higher performance particularly in intensive tasks such as 3D rendering or engineering work, then the Dell XPS 13 Plus is the better choice, offering higher portability as well. The Dell XPS 13 Plus is very good for general use, while the Acer Aspire 3 14 is good.
The Dell XPS 13 Plus outperforms the Acer Aspire 3 14 in general use, largely due to its significantly higher RAM, superior OLED display with a higher resolution and touchscreen functionality, making it great for multitasking and clear, sharp visuals. Additionally, the XPS 13 Plus is more portable with its lighter weight and smaller size, and it also offers better battery life, making it more suitable for mobile use and long-hour operation without charging, compared to the fair portability, lower screen quality, and shorter battery life of the Acer Aspire 3 14.

The Dell XPS 13 Plus is only fair for gaming and AI, while the Acer Aspire 3 14 is poor.
The Dell XPS 13 Plus outperforms the Acer Aspire 3 14 in gaming and 3D tasks primarily because it has a much stronger integrated GPU, Intel Iris Xe, versus the Acer's Radeon 610M. Additionally, the Dell XPS has a higher resolution OLED display which, along with better GPU, results in better screen quality, although both laptops have similar screen refresh rates.

The Dell XPS 13 Plus is very good for engineering and design, while the Acer Aspire 3 14 is only fair.
The Dell XPS 13 Plus offers superior engineering and design capabilities thanks to its significantly higher RAM and a more advanced CPU, contributing to better overall performance, which makes it very suitable for demanding applications. In contrast, while the Acer Aspire 3 14 has a lower-tier CPU and less RAM, making it fair for such tasks, it compensates with better portability due to larger size and weight; however, its screen quality and GPU are not as high-end as the Dell's, which affects its suitability for intensive engineering and design use.

The Dell XPS 13 Plus has a better screen than the Acer Aspire 3 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The Acer Aspire 3 14's screen offers adequate resolution and brightness for browsing and video streaming, which suffices for general use, but it lacks the color precision needed for detailed engineering work and the high refresh rates essential for smooth gaming and 3D rendering. The Dell XPS 13 Plus, with its superior resolution, brightness, and color accuracy, excels for tasks demanding visual detail like engineering and design, but like the Acer, it still falls short for gaming and 3D due to a standard refresh rate not tailored for those activities. Thus, for general use and professional design tasks, the Dell XPS stands out, but neither laptop is ideal for gaming enthusiasts seeking immersive and fluid graphics.

"The XPS 13 Plus is powerful, but has its drawbacks. Dell did not only update the processor generation, but also decided to offer two completely different models from now on. The XPS 13 Plus gets the faster Intel Alder Lake-P chips, and the Core i7-1260P in our review unit offers good performance figures. However, the device once again shows the problems of the current Intel CPUs, because the high performance requires a lot of power. This affects the battery runtime as well as temperatures, so the new model (even with the Optimized power profile) is louder than the older model."
