If you're on a tight budget and primarily listen to music or watch TV and videos, the Sony MDREX15AP offers good value with very good comfort and sound quality for music and TV. However, for a premium, the Sony WF1000XM5 brings active noise cancelling, better wireless features including a longer battery life and wireless charging, app customizations, and sound optimizations for both Android and Apple devices. The WF1000XM5 is more suitable for air travel, exercise, and noise isolation, but note that it may not perform well for calls and gaming due to potential latency issues. Give Feedback

Make It Sound Great

Pete Anthony | June 2022
"At the ultra budget $10 price-point (and we’ve seen the no-mic version go for as cheap as $7), I’d say these are a decent option if you’re looking for a passable pair of earbuds for basic use that’s as cheap as possible. I wouldn’t say they feel or sound as good as some of the ultra-budget alternatives out there – of which there are a few at this point – but some might disagree. I will say though that the cable is a little bit nicer than those of that same competition."

Sound Guys

Harley Maranan | July 2023
"The Sony WF-1000XM5 is among the best noise canceling earbuds currently on the market, and they aren’t cheap. These earbuds aren’t the best choice for budget-conscious listeners. But if you prioritize active noise cancelation, sound quality, and extensive software support, the WF-1000XM5 is worth its premium price tag."
