If price is a significant factor for you, the JBL Tune Buds are the more economical choice and still offer good sound quality and comfort. They are suitable for exercise with their sweatproof and dustproof design and have longer battery life for extended use. However, if you're looking for superior noise isolation and sound quality, particularly for music, and you value features like app customization, wireless charging, and virtual surround sound, the Sony WF1000XM5 may justify the higher cost. The Sony earbuds also feature active noise cancelling and optimization for both Android and Apple devices, making them more versatile if you need to block out ambient noise during air travel or want a more immersive audio experience with supported apps. PC Mag

Tim Gideon | September 2023
"JBL’s Tune Buds stick with the company’s signature bass-heavy sound by default, but a quality in-app EQ lets you sculpt the audio to taste. These noise-cancelling true wireless earphones also mitigate environmental distractions fairly well for the price and offer good battery life. If you're specifically seeking bold, bass-tuned audio out of the box, the Tune Buds are worth a listen."

Sound Guys

Harley Maranan | July 2023
"The Sony WF-1000XM5 is among the best noise canceling earbuds currently on the market, and they aren’t cheap. These earbuds aren’t the best choice for budget-conscious listeners. But if you prioritize active noise cancelation, sound quality, and extensive software support, the WF-1000XM5 is worth its premium price tag."
