If active noise canceling and wireless connectivity are important to you, the JBL Tune 660NC might be worth the extra cost; they're great for air travel and have a comfortable on-ear design suitable for longer use. However, if you are on a tight budget and prioritize wired earbuds for activities like TV and video where a stable connection is key, then the Sony MDREX15AP will serve you well and save you money. The Sonys offer excellent performance for TV and video, but they lack noise cancelation and aren't the best for calls and meetings. Keep in mind, the JBLs are foldable and include a detachable cable, adding versatility, but they aren't the best for exercise use, unlike the Sonys which are more portable and sweatproof. "The JBL Tune 660NC is the best value you can get from a set of on-ear headphones. There's no companion app so you don't get many additional features, but everything the JBL Tune 660NC sets out to do, it does well. At this price, the JBL Tune 660NC is an easy recommendation for on-ear headphone lovers"
"At the ultra budget $10 price-point (and we’ve seen the no-mic version go for as cheap as $7), I’d say these are a decent option if you’re looking for a passable pair of earbuds for basic use that’s as cheap as possible. I wouldn’t say they feel or sound as good as some of the ultra-budget alternatives out there – of which there are a few at this point – but some might disagree. I will say though that the cable is a little bit nicer than those of that same competition."
