The JBL Live Free NC+ earbuds offer active noise cancelling which is ideal for air travel and noisy environments, making them suitable if you need to isolate from outside noise. They're also sweatproof and have a wireless design, which is convenient during exercise. However, these earbuds have lower scores in gaming and TV/video, where low latency is important, hence they may not be the best choice for those activities. The JBL Quantum 100 headphones, on the other hand, excel in gaming thanks to their higher gaming score and boast a far better mic quality, which is beneficial for calls and multiplayer gaming communication; although, they lack wireless connectivity and active noise cancelling, which compromises convenience and noise isolation. If your priority is active noise cancellation and wireless freedom, choose the JBL Live Free NC+. If you prioritize gaming, communication, and a lower price point, go for the JBL Quantum 100. HeadphoneCheck

Maike Paeßens | 2020
"JBL has added great-sounding, rock-solid all-rounders with a pleasant, warm sound character to their range. They are equipped with a high level of functionality that can be customised via the app. Some compromises have to be made with the active noise cancellation, which has a discreet effect, while the ambient mode and the Talkthru function proved to be powerful despite a perceptible background noise."

CNN Underscored

Wes Davis | July 2023
"I appreciate a functional piece of tech as much as I do gear on the bleeding edge, and the JBL Quantum 100 certainly falls in the former category. The sound is reasonably good, the built-in microphone is surprisingly reliable and it has a thoughtful design for the price. It lacks the convenience of Bluetooth, sure, but sometimes it’s nice not to have to worry about the finicky nature of wireless communication and go with good old hard-wired tech."
