If you're looking for an inexpensive option primarily for wired listening without a need for portability, the Audio Technica ATH M20X may suit your needs with decent sound quality for music and durability. However, if you value additional features like wireless connectivity, active noise cancelling, longer battery life, a microphone for calls and meetings, and the flexibility of app controls, the Sony WH-1000XM5, while pricier, offers a more versatile and higher quality experience, especially during air travel and for noise isolation purposes. Keep in mind, the Sony's advanced features make it a great companion for modern, mobile lifestyles. Give Feedback

Soundguys

Jasper Lastoria | September 2023
"Audio-Technica positively defies what you can expect for around $50. Ultimately, Audio-Technica did not design the ATH-M20x to go on the subway with you. It’s for the budget-conscious, do-it-yourself producer, podcaster, or studio that needs to buy tracking cans in bulk. If you don’t need the most deluxe, comfortable headphones, maybe you’ll like the ATH-M20x for its spartan functionality. The headphones are aimed at giving you the minimum requirements without it feeling like a sacrifice."

Kazi Mahbub Mutakabbir | February 2023
"The Sony WH-1000XM5 are the best Sony Bluetooth headphones so far and one of the most well-rounded Bluetooth headphones around. Look no further if you need class-leading ANC with a mostly inoffensive sound signature. Just be ready to pony up the price premium."
