If you're looking for better overall sound and comfort, as well as an experience optimized for Apple devices with features like ear/head detection, the Apple AirPods (3rd generation) would be the better choice. However, if you prioritize having an open design for a more natural listening experience and a smaller form factor for portability, along with better app equalization and customization, the Sony LinkBuds might suit you better. It's also worth noting that the Apple AirPods offer slightly better battery life both in the earbuds and with the charging case, and they include wireless charging, which Sony's LinkBuds do not. Neither of them are ideal for noise isolation due to their respective enclosure types, so keep that in mind if you plan to use them in noisy environments. Give Feedback

Sound Guys

Lily Katz, Christian Thomas | February 2023
"The Apple AirPods improves upon the 2019 model with its more ergonomic, yet unsealed, fit, water-resistant build, MagSafe charging case, and advanced software features. You can enjoy a wholly immersive movie experience with the new AirPods' spatial audio with head tracking, and enjoy HD audio during FaceTime calls. Of course, most of these features are limited to Apple hardware."

Sound Guys

Sam Moore | February 2022
"The Sony LinkBuds is definitely the most unique audio product to release so far in 2022, and it largely executes well on it's unoccluded design. However, it's hamstrung by all the same things as other unsealed earbuds."
