When choosing between the Samsung S95B (OLED) and the TCL S546 (LCD), here are the main tradeoffs: The Samsung S95B delivers a premium viewing experience with excellent overall picture quality. It's great for gaming, sports, watching movies, and viewing in dark rooms due to its outstanding contrast, brightness, color accuracy, and wide viewing angles. It supports advanced features like 4k at 120Hz and has built-in great speakers. But, it comes at a premium price. The TCL S546 is a budget-friendly option, with good overall picture quality, but less suitable for bright rooms due to lower brightness and reflection handling. It's less optimal for sports and has lower-quality motion processing. When it comes to viewing angles, it won’t be as good as the Samsung S95B. It also doesn’t support a 120Hz refresh rate. If a state-of-the-art viewing experience is a priority and budget is less of a concern, the Samsung S95B would be the better choice. If you are looking for a more cost-effective option that still provides a good viewing experience, especially in darker environments, the TCL S546 is a solid pick. Give Feedback

Business Insider

Steven Cohen | March 2023
"Samsung's S95B is easily one of the best high-end 4K TVs on the market. S95B is able to achieve industry-leading color performance and a brighter screen than typical OLEDs. In fact, the display's OLED color coverage is nearly in a class of its own. The S95B is a beautiful TV, even when it's off. The display has a pleasing, minimalist design with nearly bezel-less borders and an impressively thin profile."

About Samsung

Samsung, a South Korean electronics manufacturer, holds the title of being the largest global TV vendor in terms of units sold. They offer a diverse lineup of TV products that cater to various budget ranges. A notable achievement in recent years is the development of Quantum Dots, a technology that enhances color reproduction, resulting in richer and more vibrant hues. Samsung TVs are well-regarded for their high manufacturing quality and user-friendly software, making them an excellent choice for consumers seeking an intuitive viewing experience.

About TCL

TCL, the highly recognizable TV brand from China, has firmly established itself as the second-largest manufacturer in terms of sales volume. Renowned for striking an impressive balance between affordability, picture quality, and design, TCL TVs deliver a compelling overall package. While they have traditionally excelled in the low-end and midrange TV segments, TCL has recently made remarkable strides in the realm of high-end televisions, introducing impressive models that rival top competitors. Most TCL TVs use Roku software which is very user friendly and easy to use, but they have a few other models that use Google TV which has the largest app selection, but is not as user friendly as Roku.
