The Samsung QN85B is generally a better choice if gaming performance or viewing in bright rooms is important to you. It has a higher gaming score and performs better in bright room conditions. It's also often less expensive than the Vizio model. However, the Vizio Quantum Pro could be more appealing if you are interested in newer technology, as it was released more recently. It supports advanced HDR formats such as Dolby Vision, which the Samsung does not, providing a potentially better viewing experience for movies and high-dynamic-range content. Both TVs have similar overall picture quality, motion processing, and sound quality, but the Samsung has a significantly lower price. Additionally, both models have a wide color gamut and color volume for vibrant picture quality, but the Vizio has a slightly higher score in these areas. Give Feedback

What Hi-Fi?

John Archer | February 2023
"Particularly key to this is the fact that black levels are unusually good, on a level we haven’t seen from any IPS TV before. Build quality is impressive too, with a gleaming silver metallic frame and stand, and enough heft to suggest plenty of quality innards. High dynamic range content jumps off the screen with enough luminosity and intensity to really sell what makes HDR special."

About Samsung

Samsung, a South Korean electronics manufacturer, holds the title of being the largest global TV vendor in terms of units sold. They offer a diverse lineup of TV products that cater to various budget ranges. A notable achievement in recent years is the development of Quantum Dots, a technology that enhances color reproduction, resulting in richer and more vibrant hues. Samsung TVs are well-regarded for their high manufacturing quality and user-friendly software, making them an excellent choice for consumers seeking an intuitive viewing experience.

About Vizio

Vizio is an American company. While they initially gained recognition for offering budget-friendly TVs, they have successfully expanded their product lineup to include high-end options as well. They manufacture TVs primarily in Mexico, China, and Vietnam. Similar to many Korean TV brands, Vizio developed its own smart TV software called SmartCast. In the past, SmartCast was not the best smart TV software, but it has evolved so that it is now good for using your TV and connecting to streaming services.
