The LG G2 (OLED) offers an exceptional overall picture quality with superior performance for gaming, viewing in a dark room, and watching movies or series. Its OLED technology provides perfect blacks and also has strong viewing angles and reflection handling, making it an excellent choice for varied viewing environments, although it may not be as bright as some LCD TVs in very well-lit rooms. On the other hand, the Sony X85J (LCD) offers good sports content viewing and upscaling with very low input lag, which is great for gaming. It has a higher brightness compared to the LG G2, which can be beneficial in bright rooms, but it lacks local dimming and thus cannot match the contrast of the OLED which might be noticeable in darker scenes. If budget is a concern, the Sony X85J is typically much less expensive but the LG G2 provides a more premium experience at a higher price. If you primarily watch movies in a dark room and value gaming performance, the higher cost of the LG G2 could be justified.
