The LG B1 OLED is a premium option that excels in overall picture quality, gaming, movies, and performance in dark rooms, with excellent contrast and black uniformity. Its OLED screen offers wide viewing angles and low response time which is great for gaming, but OLEDs can suffer from permanent burn-in risk with static content. On the other hand, the TCL S555 LCD is much more budget-friendly and performs adequately across the board. It has a brighter screen for SDR content which could make it more suitable for well-lit rooms. However, its picture quality, particularly in sports content and color performance, isn't as good as the LG B1, and its narrower viewing angle might limit the viewing experience from the sides. Choose the LG B1 if you're looking for superior performance in gaming and movies and don't mind spending more. If you want to save money and need a brighter screen for everyday use in bright rooms, the TCL S555 could be sufficient. Give Feedback

Caleb Denison | December 2022
"It looks great out of the box and the picture quality it is rock-solid for the price. (...) What really makes this a decent gaming TV, though, is the very low input lag. (...) But if you want to save a little money, the TCL S555 strikes a great balance between cost and performance – the kind of performance that’s impressive enough to deliver some wow to your eyes. (...)"

About LG

LG, a prominent TV brand from Korea, has played a significant role in popularizing OLED TVs. OLED technology is hailed as the future of TV technology. Their TVs employ WebOS, a proprietary smart TV software that not only offers seamless functionality but also includes gaming-specific features, earning praise from players worldwide. Often regarded as the gateway to unparalleled viewing experiences, LG's mid-range OLEDs come highly recommended, making them a worthwhile investment for those willing to stretch their budget for superior quality.

About TCL

TCL, the highly recognizable TV brand from China, has firmly established itself as the second-largest manufacturer in terms of sales volume. Renowned for striking an impressive balance between affordability, picture quality, and design, TCL TVs deliver a compelling overall package. While they have traditionally excelled in the low-end and midrange TV segments, TCL has recently made remarkable strides in the realm of high-end televisions, introducing impressive models that rival top competitors. Most TCL TVs use Roku software which is very user friendly and easy to use, but they have a few other models that use Google TV which has the largest app selection, but is not as user friendly as Roku.
