The LG G2 (OLED) offers a superior picture quality, better motion handling and is generally a more premium product, making it excellent for movies, sports, and especially gaming due to its higher refresh rate. However, it is significantly more expensive than the LG UP8000 (LCD). The UP8000 is a more budget-friendly option with decent quality for everyday TV and news, but its picture quality, especially in dark scenes and when viewed at an angle, won't match that of the G2. The UP8000 should perform better in a bright room compared to the G2, as OLED screens can sometimes struggle with brightness. If budget is a concern and you mostly watch in bright rooms, the UP8000 could be sufficient, but if you prioritize peak performance for a variety of content and have a higher budget, the G2 is the stronger choice. Stratos Kampourogiannis | July 2021
"What we liked on this one was the very sharp 4K images it could display, its good up-scaling capabilities, nice viewing angles and extremely low input lag. Lastly the new webOS 6.0 is great even if it needs some time to get your bearings while the redesigned Magic Remote feels fresh even if functionality remains the same."

"When it comes to picture quality alone, the LG G2 is absolutely among the best OLED TVs we've ever seen. You're getting a set that's basically impeccable across every aspect of its performance, it's truly one of the best TVs on the planet. The Brightness Booster Max technology really pays dividends to set it apart from the crown. The LG G2 is a superb OLED TV that delivers exceptional HDR performance with bright specular highlights, and incredibly accurate dynamic tone mapping."
