The LG A2 OLED offers superior overall picture quality, especially in dark rooms, and it has excellent contrast, which makes it great for movies. However, it's more expensive and doesn't perform as well in bright rooms. On the other hand, the Sony X80K LCD is much less expensive with good motion processing, making it suitable for sports content, but offers lower picture quality overall, especially in dark rooms. "Movie fans will find a lot here to love, and the A2 series’ low prices compared with other OLED TVs will keep their wallets happy. Images had the deep blacks and detailed shadows typical of the best 4K TVs, while colors looked both fully saturated and clean. Also, the A2’s out-of-box picture performance in Filmmaker mode was mostly accurate, requiring only slight adjustments to optimize brightness, color, and contrast."

"The Sony Bravia X80K is an inexpensive LCD TV that turns out pleasing visuals and is armed with a number of other desirable features. Sony’s robust internal processing, results in generally better picture quality than you’ll usually get for this price. In practice, the X80K is satisfying to watch. You’re not going to get as sumptuous a picture as you may with other TVs from Sony or other companies, but we didn’t encounter anything that looked bad on it."
