The LG A2 (OLED) offers superior picture quality with excellent black uniformity and viewing angles, making it ideal for watching movies and series in both dark and moderately lit rooms. Its OLED screen delivers better contrast and color accuracy out of the box than the TCL S450R (LCD). The LG A2 also has a better reflection handling if you're in a room with some light sources. However, it is more expensive than the TCL S450R, which, while offering a fair overall picture quality for its budget price, won't perform as well in challenging lighting conditions or provide the same level of color and contrast. The TCL may be more appealing if cost is a primary concern and your viewing environment is flexible. If audio is a deciding factor, note that both TVs don't have particularly great speakers, so you might consider a soundbar for an improved audio experience. Give Feedback

Techradar

Al Griffin | August 2022
"Movie fans will find a lot here to love, and the A2 series’ low prices compared with other OLED TVs will keep their wallets happy. Images had the deep blacks and detailed shadows typical of the best 4K TVs, while colors looked both fully saturated and clean. Also, the A2’s out-of-box picture performance in Filmmaker mode was mostly accurate, requiring only slight adjustments to optimize brightness, color, and contrast."

About LG

LG, a prominent TV brand from Korea, has played a significant role in popularizing OLED TVs. OLED technology is hailed as the future of TV technology. Their TVs employ WebOS, a proprietary smart TV software that not only offers seamless functionality but also includes gaming-specific features, earning praise from players worldwide. Often regarded as the gateway to unparalleled viewing experiences, LG's mid-range OLEDs come highly recommended, making them a worthwhile investment for those willing to stretch their budget for superior quality.

About TCL

TCL, the highly recognizable TV brand from China, has firmly established itself as the second-largest manufacturer in terms of sales volume. Renowned for striking an impressive balance between affordability, picture quality, and design, TCL TVs deliver a compelling overall package. While they have traditionally excelled in the low-end and midrange TV segments, TCL has recently made remarkable strides in the realm of high-end televisions, introducing impressive models that rival top competitors. Most TCL TVs use Roku software which is very user friendly and easy to use, but they have a few other models that use Google TV which has the largest app selection, but is not as user friendly as Roku.
