If you're on a tight budget and need a basic TV, the TCL S334 could suffice, but its picture quality is poor across various types of content and it struggles in both bright and dark rooms. On the other hand, if you're willing to spend more for vastly superior picture quality, especially for watching movies or sports, and an excellent performance in dark rooms, the LG A2 OLED is a significant upgrade. The LG A2 also has better sound, more HDMI ports, and supports advanced HDR formats like Dolby Vision, which the TCL does not, making the LG A2 a more future-proof choice. However, note that the TCL's poor overall performance includes gaming, so if you're a gamer, neither of these options might be ideal; in that case, you might want to consider alternatives specifically suited for gaming. Techradar

Al Griffin | August 2022
"Movie fans will find a lot here to love, and the A2 series’ low prices compared with other OLED TVs will keep their wallets happy. Images had the deep blacks and detailed shadows typical of the best 4K TVs, while colors looked both fully saturated and clean. Also, the A2’s out-of-box picture performance in Filmmaker mode was mostly accurate, requiring only slight adjustments to optimize brightness, color, and contrast."

About LG

LG, a prominent TV brand from Korea, has played a significant role in popularizing OLED TVs. OLED technology is hailed as the future of TV technology. Their TVs employ WebOS, a proprietary smart TV software that not only offers seamless functionality but also includes gaming-specific features, earning praise from players worldwide. Often regarded as the gateway to unparalleled viewing experiences, LG's mid-range OLEDs come highly recommended, making them a worthwhile investment for those willing to stretch their budget for superior quality.

About TCL

TCL, the highly recognizable TV brand from China, has firmly established itself as the second-largest manufacturer in terms of sales volume. Renowned for striking an impressive balance between affordability, picture quality, and design, TCL TVs deliver a compelling overall package. While they have traditionally excelled in the low-end and midrange TV segments, TCL has recently made remarkable strides in the realm of high-end televisions, introducing impressive models that rival top competitors. Most TCL TVs use Roku software which is very user friendly and easy to use, but they have a few other models that use Google TV which has the largest app selection, but is not as user friendly as Roku.
