If you are on a tight budget and mainly watch TV shows or news in well-lit rooms, the Insignia F20 might work for you despite its overall poor performance across various content types due to its good viewing angle. However, if you're looking for a higher quality viewing experience for movies, sports, and gaming, and are willing to invest more, the Sony X90L offers much better picture quality, especially in bright and dark rooms, and has superior motion processing and upscaling capabilities. The Sony also comes with more advanced features like a higher refresh rate, more HDMI ports, and better built-in sound, which could save you from needing an external sound system. The Insignia's performance as a monitor is poor, so if you plan to use your TV in this capacity, the Sony, with its very good use as a monitor score, might be better.
