Consider the Samsung QN85B if you're looking for a more budget-friendly option that still offers excellent overall picture quality, especially for gaming and in bright rooms. It's also a great choice for watching sports and movies, with good upscaling and motion processing capabilities. However, it's not the best in a dark room, and the sound quality is just good, not exceptional. On the other hand, the Hisense UX, while pricier, delivers superior performance in nearly every aspect, particularly in brightness and color accuracy, making it ideal for watching movies and sports in well-lit environments. It also has better speakers and a larger screen size, enhancing the viewing experience for animated content and general entertainment. However, its viewing angles are not as wide, which might not be ideal if you have a large seating area. Ultimately, if you prioritize a brighter screen, better sound, and have a tighter budget, the Samsung is a solid choice. But if you want the best picture quality, a larger screen, and are willing to pay more, the Hisense UX is the way to go. Give Feedback

What Hi-Fi?

John Archer | February 2023
"Particularly key to this is the fact that black levels are unusually good, on a level we haven’t seen from any IPS TV before. Build quality is impressive too, with a gleaming silver metallic frame and stand, and enough heft to suggest plenty of quality innards. High dynamic range content jumps off the screen with enough luminosity and intensity to really sell what makes HDR special."

About Hisense

Hisense, a Chinese TV manufacturer, entered the US market in approximately 2011 and has since acquired TV divisions from various companies such as Toshiba, Sharp, Hitachi, and NEC. Currently ranking as the fourth largest vendor in terms of sales volume, Hisense aims to capture a wide range of TV budget segments. They offer exceptional value with TVs that often outperform their competitors at similar price points, making them a compelling choice for consumers. In the US, they use Google TV as their smart TV software which provides the largest app selection and a very modern user interface, however it is not as user friendly as the software from other vendors.

About Samsung

Samsung, a South Korean electronics manufacturer, holds the title of being the largest global TV vendor in terms of units sold. They offer a diverse lineup of TV products that cater to various budget ranges. A notable achievement in recent years is the development of Quantum Dots, a technology that enhances color reproduction, resulting in richer and more vibrant hues. Samsung TVs are well-regarded for their high manufacturing quality and user-friendly software, making them an excellent choice for consumers seeking an intuitive viewing experience.
