The Hisense U7H is less expensive and offers a balanced performance for movies, TV shows, and video games, but the Vizio P-Series has better picture quality, particularly in bright rooms. The Vizio also displays deeper blacks and has a higher peak brightness which makes it a better choice if you are into movies and HDR content. If gaming is a priority, both offer similar gaming features; however, the Vizio may have a slight edge in motion handling. Choose the Hisense if cost is a major factor and you want a solid all-around TV, but if you're willing to spend more for enhanced picture quality in various lighting conditions and slightly better performance in dark scenes, the Vizio P-Series could be the better option. The Hisense U7H (LCD) is very good for news, talk, & other TV, while the Vizio P-Series (LCD) is good.
The Hisense U7H excels in upscaling lower-resolution content, which is crucial for watching regular TV programs that aren't broadcast in high definition, and its SDR brightness makes it a solid choice in well-lit environments. The Vizio P-Series, on the other hand, has superior color performance right out of the box and a wider color gamut, providing vibrant and diverse colors, though its upscaling capabilities are not as strong as the Hisense U7H's.

The Vizio P-Series (LCD) is very good for bright room, while the Hisense U7H (LCD) is good.
The Vizio P-Series performs better in a bright room mainly due to its superior handling of reflections, allowing for clearer visibility under various lighting conditions. While both the Hisense U7H and Vizio P-Series provide very good SDR and HDR brightness, the Hisense U7H's fair reflection handling capability may reduce visibility in well-lit environments compared to the Vizio's very good reflection management.

The Vizio P-Series (LCD) and Hisense U7H (LCD) are both only fair for sports.
The Hisense U7H has poor response time and motion processing, which could lead to blurred images during fast sports scenes, while its fair reflection handling and viewing angles might not deliver the best experience in a bright room with wide seating. In contrast, the Vizio P-Series offers better reflection handling and similar viewing angle limitations, but its motion processing is only fair, potentially causing some motion blur in sports, and it has somewhat better gray uniformity, which may affect the perception of large playing fields or courts.

How the Hisense U7H (LCD) and the Vizio P-Series (LCD) compare to other TVs
"We loved the Hisense U7H. It was able to deliver an excellent all-around image quality in its price range. The TV excels at controlling its backlighting in a way that ensures you’ll never experience blooming to a level of being distracting, something that I was a little surprised to see given the lack of Mini LED. The TV doesn’t just get decently bright it offers relatively accurate color reproduction for a TV in this price range. The TV is being billed excellent for gaming."
"We were even more pleased to see that performance had improved across the board, with the display offering better color, brightness, and shorter lag times than the already excellent Roku model. Color accuracy was great right out of the box. The TCL 5-Series Google TV becomes a great option for demanding gamers."

About Hisense
Hisense, a Chinese TV manufacturer, entered the US market in approximately 2011 and has since acquired TV divisions from various companies such as Toshiba, Sharp, Hitachi, and NEC. Currently ranking as the fourth largest vendor in terms of sales volume, Hisense aims to capture a wide range of TV budget segments. They offer exceptional value with TVs that often outperform their competitors at similar price points, making them a compelling choice for consumers. In the US, they use Google TV as their smart TV software which provides the largest app selection and a very modern user interface, however it is not as user friendly as the software from other vendors.
About Vizio
Vizio is an American company. While they initially gained recognition for offering budget-friendly TVs, they have successfully expanded their product lineup to include high-end options as well. They manufacture TVs primarily in Mexico, China, and Vietnam. Similar to many Korean TV brands, Vizio developed its own smart TV software called SmartCast. In the past, SmartCast was not the best smart TV software, but it has evolved so that it is now good for using your TV and connecting to streaming services.
