The Hisense U8H is typically much less expensive and performs very well in bright rooms. It's also quite suitable for gaming, with a good response time and input lag score for a smoother experience. However, it may not provide as wide a viewing angle and has a less perfect black uniformity, which could affect the viewing experience in dark rooms. On the other hand, the Samsung S90C costs more but offers exceptional picture quality, particularly in dark rooms due to its perfect black levels. It supports a wider color gamut, has better motion processing and viewing angles, making it superior for movies and sports. It does not support HDR10+ but excels in other HDR formats. It's also well-suited for gaming, with low input lag and a higher refresh rate. Therefore, if price and bright room performance are your primary concerns, the Hisense U8H will provide good value. If you are looking for top-notch picture quality in all lighting conditions, better viewing angles, and are willing to pay a premium, the Samsung S90C would be a better choice. Give Feedback

IGN

Jaron Schneider | January 2023
"Hisense is over here making the best TVs for the majority of average families. U8H is a juiced-up utility knife of a television that manages to do a lot of things pretty well. The brightness this TV is capable of pushing out means I can see everything going on in any video game I’m playing regardless of what time of day it is"

About Hisense

Hisense, a Chinese TV manufacturer, entered the US market in approximately 2011 and has since acquired TV divisions from various companies such as Toshiba, Sharp, Hitachi, and NEC. Currently ranking as the fourth largest vendor in terms of sales volume, Hisense aims to capture a wide range of TV budget segments. They offer exceptional value with TVs that often outperform their competitors at similar price points, making them a compelling choice for consumers. In the US, they use Google TV as their smart TV software which provides the largest app selection and a very modern user interface, however it is not as user friendly as the software from other vendors.

About Samsung

Samsung, a South Korean electronics manufacturer, holds the title of being the largest global TV vendor in terms of units sold. They offer a diverse lineup of TV products that cater to various budget ranges. A notable achievement in recent years is the development of Quantum Dots, a technology that enhances color reproduction, resulting in richer and more vibrant hues. Samsung TVs are well-regarded for their high manufacturing quality and user-friendly software, making them an excellent choice for consumers seeking an intuitive viewing experience.
