If you're looking for a TV with better overall picture quality and a more advanced gaming experience at a lower price, the Hisense U7H is a strong choice as it has a higher overall picture quality and gaming score. However, it won't perform as well in bright rooms compared to the Samsung Q70A, which has a slightly better bright room performance. Keep in mind, the Samsung Q70A is more expensive, though it offers better black uniformity and viewing angles, which might be important if you often watch TV from different positions in the room. Both TVs support gaming features and have similar sound quality, but the Hisense supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, offering broader HDR compatibility than the Samsung, which doesn't support Dolby Vision. The Hisense U7H (LCD) is good for movies & TV, while the Samsung Q70A (LCD) is only fair.
The Hisense U7H delivers a better movie and cinematic TV watching experience with its superior full array local dimming feature that bolsters contrast, while the Samsung Q70A, lacking local dimming and with weaker black uniformity, falls short in providing the depth and detail in dark scenes that are crucial for such content. Additionally, the Hisense U7H's superior black uniformity contributes to more consistent dark scene portrayal, unlike the Samsung Q70A which may exhibit more uneven blacks and potentially distract from the viewing experience.

How the Hisense U7H (LCD) and the Samsung Q70A (LCD) compare to other TVs
"We loved the Hisense U7H. It was able to deliver an excellent all-around image quality in its price range. The TV excels at controlling its backlighting in a way that ensures you’ll never experience blooming to a level of being distracting, something that I was a little surprised to see given the lack of Mini LED.
