The Amazon Omni QLED is more expensive but offers better overall picture quality, sound quality, and movie watching experience. It performs well in dark rooms and has better reflection handling for bright rooms, but it's not the best for watching sports. On the other hand, the TCL Q6 is less expensive and offers better gaming performance and a slightly better sports watching experience. While it performs well in bright rooms, it may not be the best choice for dark room viewing due to its lower contrast and black uniformity. So, if you prioritize a higher quality picture and sound for movies, and plan to view in varied lighting conditions, the Amazon Omni QLED is a strong choice. If you want to save money and mostly play games or watch sports, the TCL Q6 is a suitable option. Choose based on what you'll mainly use the TV for and how much you're willing to spend. Tech Advisor

Jim Martin | April 2023
"This really is a TV designed for the streaming generation ... And it’s good to see support for both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision because it means more of the content you stream will be available in HDR. Overall, the Omni QLED is an impressive TV. It’s pretty bright, has good contrast and – thanks to those quantum dots – vibrant colours."

"If you’re looking for a good overall viewing experience without spending a lot, the TCL Q6 fits the bill. With its good color reproduction, the image on the screen will do just fine, especially for HDR content."

About Amazon

Amazon, the largest online retailer in North America, has forged partnerships with TCL and Hisense to produce white-label TVs incorporating their Fire OS software. These Amazon-branded TVs typically compete in the low-end and mid-range segments, offering compelling price points. Leveraging their strong reputation, Amazon has swiftly built brand trust in the TV market despite being relatively new to it. To enhance their popularity, these TVs integrate features from the Amazon ecosystem, including Alexa, providing users with a seamless and interconnected TV experience.

About TCL

TCL, the highly recognizable TV brand from China, has firmly established itself as the second-largest manufacturer in terms of sales volume. Renowned for striking an impressive balance between affordability, picture quality, and design, TCL TVs deliver a compelling overall package. While they have traditionally excelled in the low-end and midrange TV segments, TCL has recently made remarkable strides in the realm of high-end televisions, introducing impressive models that rival top competitors. Most TCL TVs use Roku software which is very user friendly and easy to use, but they have a few other models that use Google TV which has the largest app selection, but is not as user friendly as Roku.
