The Amazon Omni Series and the LG UP8000 are similarly priced LCD TVs with their own strengths and weaknesses. For a better smart TV system with voice control, choose the Amazon Omni Series, which integrates well with Amazon services and has better support for HDR content. It is slightly better for watching movies or TV series and has excellent low input lag for gaming but isn't optimal for use in dark rooms due to lower dark room performance. If watching sports or consuming content in bright rooms is a priority, the LG UP8000 may be the better choice. Its performance for sports content is superior, and it handles ambient light well. Additionally, the LG has a wider viewing angle, making it a good fit for room setups where viewers are spread out. However, its overall picture quality and movie-watching experience are not quite as good as the Amazon Omni. Neither TV has local dimming, which can affect deep blacks and contrast. Both are limited to 60Hz refresh rates and are not the best option for high-end gaming. Ultimately, if integration with Amazon's ecosystem and voice control are important, along with a solid all-around performance, go for the Amazon Omni Series. If you prioritize sports viewing and a wider viewing angle in a bright room, the LG UP8000 may serve you better. Give Feedback

Techradar

Nick Pino | July 2022
"If you want a competent budget screen with some handy features, the Amazon Omni TV delivers an experience that punches well above its price tag. You’ll also get the benefit of Fire TV’s new UI right out of the box. It’s clean and simple to understand, plus it puts content first. In the picture-quality department, the Amazon Omni is a surprising star among some of its dimmer, less colorful rivals."

"What we liked on this one was the very sharp 4K images it could display, its good up-scaling capabilities, nice viewing angles and extremely low input lag. Lastly the new webOS 6.0 is great even if it needs some time to get your bearings while the redesigned Magic Remote feels fresh even if functionality remains the same."
