If competitive gaming is a priority and budget is less of a concern, the Asus PG27AQN excels with a higher refresh rate, making it an excellent choice for fast-paced games, but it doesn't favor HDR gaming and media. The LG 27GP850 costs less and still performs well for gaming with a decent refresh rate. It's also better equipped for digital photo editing due to wider color gamuts. For casual gaming, productivity, or if on a tighter budget, the LG offers a balanced performance without the premium price tag of the Asus. Neither monitor is particularly suited for HDR video editing or print photo editing due to their color volume and peak brightness limitations. Give Feedback

IGN

Matthew Smith | March 2023
"The Asus ROG Swift PG27AQN is a motion clarity marvel. It’s the first 27-inch 1440p 360Hz monitor on the market, and also the first to use an Ultrafast IPS display. These advancements provide outstanding motion clarity across a broad range of refresh rates. Unfortunately, the monitor’s motion clarity does nothing for its image quality, which is just ok. To be clear, it’s a very nice looking monitor in many situations. However, the monitor’s contrast ratio is rather low. And while it can reach high levels of brightness in HDR, it lacks the nuance and contrast required to look great in HDR games."

TechSpot

Tim Schiesser | May 2021
"In my opinion, the LG 27GP850 is the best in its class from the monitors I've tested, with the combination of great response times and a functional sRGB mode pushing it over the edge. It's generally worth the price premium and its overall balance of features with few weak areas makes it a monitor you won't be disappointed to have."
