The MSI Raider GE78 comes at a higher price but offers more storage, a more powerful main processor (Intel i9), and a superior graphics card (Nvidia RTX 4090) than the MSI Stealth GS77, which has less storage, a less powerful processor (Intel i7), and a lower-tier graphics card (Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti). The choice between the two depends on whether you prioritize higher performance and storage over portability and a lower price. Give Feedback

The MSI Raider GE78 is best in class for gaming and AI, while the MSI Stealth GS77 is good.
The MSI Raider GE78 outperforms in gaming and 3D because it features a more powerful Nvidia RTX 4090 GPU and a higher screen refresh rate, both of which are very important for a smoother and more responsive gaming experience. While the MSI Stealth GS77 is equipped with a capable Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti GPU, its performance is overshadowed by the GE78, and although both have high refresh rates, GPU strength is critical for gaming and 3D tasks.

The MSI Raider GE78 is excellent for engineering and design, while the MSI Stealth GS77 is very good.
The MSI Raider GE78 stands out for engineering and design work due to its superior CPU and GPU, offering high-end performance for demanding tasks, but it is heavier and thus less portable compared to the MSI Stealth GS77, which has a very good CPU and GPU as well, but ranks slightly lower in performance for these intensive applications. Both laptops have excellent screen quality, ample RAM, and comparable battery life, but the Raider GE78's higher-grade components make it exceptionally suitable for the most challenging engineering and design workloads.

The MSI Raider GE78 has a better screen than the MSI Stealth GS77 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, software development, and content creation.
For general use, both the MSI Raider GE78 and MSI Stealth GS77 boast screens with sharp resolutions and bright displays, ensuring a clear and vivid viewing experience during everyday tasks like browsing and video streaming. In engineering and design, the excellent color gamut coverage of both laptops means professionals working with graphics can expect accurate color representation. However, for gaming and 3D applications, where a high refresh rate is crucial to avoid motion blur and provide smoother visuals, both laptops fall short, which may disappoint gamers and 3D designers looking for fluid motion performance.

The MSI Raider GE78 and MSI Stealth GS77 are both very good for general use.
The MSI Raider GE78 offers a strong CPU and ample RAM for smooth multitasking, along with a high-quality screen, but it's less portable and has a shorter battery life than the MSI Stealth GS77, which is lighter and battery-optimized for on-the-go use without compromising on screen quality and computing power. While both have sufficient storage and good keyboard and speaker quality, the Raider may run louder and warmer under heavy load compared to the Stealth, which is engineered with better heat management to ensure quieter operation.

How the MSI Raider GE78 and the MSI Stealth GS77 compare to other laptops
"Performance-wise, the GE78 offers a significant boost over the GE77 for just slightly higher power consumption. You'll have to get the RTX 4080 or 4090 configurations to see the performance advantages, however, as the RTX 4070 is closer in performance to the older RTX 3080 Ti. In terms of design, some users might prefer the 16:9 minimalistic look of the older GE77 over the 16:10 retro-inspired GE78 and vice versa. We wouldn't call one better than the other in terms of aesthetics, but we'll give the edge to the GE78 for its stronger hinges and larger keys and clickpad."
"The MSI Stealth GS77 is better than the GS76... mostly. The GS77 is a few steps forward and a few steps back from the GS76. Improvements are numerous including the stronger and more rigid skeleton, higher resolution webcam, larger clickpad, easier serviceability, relatively similar battery runtimes, newer display options, and higher performance at about the same TDP and TGP levels as before. CPU performance is better than expected even when compared to other laptops with Core i7 or Core i9 processors. The newer model feels more substantial than the outgoing one for higher quality impressions as well."
