Both MSI Raider GE77Hx and MSI Vector GP76 are similarly priced upper midrange gaming laptops with a few key differences to consider. If you need more memory for multitasking or memory-intensive applications, the Vector GP76 comes with twice the amount of RAM as the Raider. However, the Raider boasts a higher-resolution display which may enhance your visual experience and is suitable for tasks that benefit from greater screen detail. The Raider also offers a significantly larger battery, which translates into longer battery life, making it a bit more suitable for use away from a power source. For gaming, the Raider provides a high refresh rate that’s great for fast-paced action, but the Vector has an even higher refresh rate for possibly smoother visuals in gaming. Both laptops are equipped with a powerful processor and GPU combination which is well-suited for general use, 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering software, but the Vector GP76 has the edge in general performance due to its higher amount of RAM. When considering portability, keep in mind that both laptops have similar weight and dimensions; thus, neither is particularly lightweight or compact compared to more portable options on the market. The MSI Raider GE77Hx has a better screen than the MSI Vector GP76 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, and software development.
The MSI Raider GE77Hx boasts high-resolution and bright displays, which enhances the viewing experience for general use and detailed work in engineering, and its coverage of color gamuts ensures accurate color representation for designers. However, its lower refresh rate limits the smoothness and responsiveness needed for 3D gaming. In contrast, the MSI Vector GP76 offers a good balance of resolution and brightness for various tasks, yet also falls short in refresh rate for optimal gaming and 3D modeling experiences.

The MSI Vector GP76 and MSI Raider GE77Hx are both very good for general use.
The MSI Raider GE77Hx excels in general use with a robust CPU and ample RAM for multitasking, alongside a high-quality screen with great color coverage, which however trades off battery life and portability due to its larger size and power demands. The MSI Vector GP76 also performs well with a capable CPU and more RAM for extensive multitasking, and a quality screen, though it has a lower resolution, but suffers similar portability challenges and has a shorter battery life—which could limit its use on-the-go.

The MSI Raider GE77Hx and MSI Vector GP76 are both very good for engineering and design.
The MSI Raider GE77Hx, with its high-end CPU and GPU, substantial RAM, and high-quality screen makes it well-suited for demanding engineering tasks and design work, though it sacrifices some portability due to its size and weight. In contrast, the MSI Vector GP76 also offers powerful performance with an excellent GPU and even more RAM, plus a good screen, but it's of similar portability, and the difference in CPU might affect the most intensive tasks. Both machines have robust keyboards and manage heat well, but their speaker quality and portability do not stand out as much.

How the MSI Raider GE77Hx and the MSI Vector GP76 compare to other laptops
"The MSI Raider GE77 offers a lot of power for a lot of money. The main components consist of a Core i9-12900HX CPU, a GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Laptop GPU (175 watts TGP, 16 GB VRAM), and 64 GB of RAM, which makes for a high overall performance level. The GeForce GPU in particular scores some of the highest scores we have seen from this chip. Both the CPU and the GPU are able to run at continuously high clock speeds. The relatively high heat and noise emissions match our expectations for this device class. With approximately 5.5 to 6.5 hours, the battery life is good for a powerful 4K laptop."
"The MSI Vector GP76 12UGS is a gaming laptop on speed. The advantages are clear: The Vector GP76 is a real gamer with its 360 Hz display and super-fast response times. In addition, the Core i7-12700H has double the power of the CPU in its predecessor and another highlight is the Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti with a real power consumption of 150 watts. This places the device in the top range of our database. The Vector can also operate rather quietly, offers a full sound range, improved battery runtimes, a key-configurable RGB keyboard, a very stable chassis and good upgrade options. Moreover, the display produces a nice, rich and clear picture."
