The MSI Modern 14 is more budget-friendly and offers decent performance for general use with good portability, while the MSI Stealth GS77 is pricier but delivers superior performance for 3D rendering, machine learning, and engineering tasks, and it's more suitable for intensive gaming. The Stealth GS77 has a larger screen and higher capacity battery, but is also heavier, making it less portable. Both have backlit keyboards, but the Stealth GS77's keyboard is rated higher in quality and has RGB lighting. If you prioritize portability and cost savings, the Modern 14 is the better choice. However, if you need better performance for demanding tasks and gaming, and don't mind a heavier and more expensive laptop, the Stealth GS77 is the better option. Give Feedback

The MSI Stealth GS77 is very good for general use, while the MSI Modern 14 is good.
The MSI Modern 14 boasts solid general use capabilities with adequate processing power, memory, and high portability due to its lighter weight and smaller screen size compared to the MSI Stealth GS77, but it has a lower-quality screen and less stellar performance in other somewhat important factors. On the other hand, the MSI Stealth GS77 offers superior performance with a more powerful CPU, more memory, a better screen, and excels in keyboard, speaker, and heat management, but it sacrifices portability and battery life due to its larger size and heavier build.

The MSI Stealth GS77 is very good for engineering and design, while the MSI Modern 14 is only fair.
The MSI Stealth GS77 surpasses the MSI Modern 14 in engineering and design use due to its more powerful Intel processor, double the RAM for multitasking, and a superior Nvidia GPU for demanding graphic tasks along with a larger, higher resolution, and more color-accurate screen. While the Modern 14 is lighter and thus more portable, it falls short with a less robust AMD processor and graphics, half the RAM, and a smaller, lower resolution screen, although it's more suitable for those who prioritize portability and less operating noise.

The MSI Stealth GS77 has a better screen than the MSI Modern 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The MSI Modern 14's screen provides adequate resolution and brightness for everyday tasks like browsing and document editing, but its limited color gamut may not satisfy professionals in engineering and design looking for precise color representation. The MSI Stealth GS77, with its higher resolution and brightness, coupled with a wider color gamut, offers a more vivid and accurate display crucial for engineering and design work. However, both laptops fall short for gaming and 3D applications due to lower refresh rates, which can affect the smoothness of motion and overall visual experience in fast-paced environments.

Alexander Tozzi, Ryan Lim, and John Peroramas | October 2023
"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
"The MSI Stealth GS77 is better than the GS76... mostly. The GS77 is a few steps forward and a few steps back from the GS76. Improvements are numerous including the stronger and more rigid skeleton, higher resolution webcam, larger clickpad, easier serviceability, relatively similar battery runtimes, newer display options, and higher performance at about the same TDP and TGP levels as before. CPU performance is better than expected even when compared to other laptops with Core i7 or Core i9 processors. The newer model feels more substantial than the outgoing one for higher quality impressions as well."
