The MSI Modern 14 is typically much less expensive, more portable, and adequate for general use with moderate performance, ideal for those on a budget. The MSI Stealth 17 is significantly more expensive, offering high performance for intensive engineering tasks, 3D rendering, gaming, and machine learning but is less portable due to its larger size and weight. Choose the Modern 14 for cost-effective, everyday tasks or the Stealth 17 for intensive use and better specifications across the board, including a superior processor, more memory, and a higher capacity battery. The MSI Stealth 17 is very good for general use, while the MSI Modern 14 is good.
The MSI Modern 14 is well-suited for general use due to its balance of ample performance from an AMD processor, sufficient memory, and a high-quality IPS screen, alongside its portability and longer battery life, making it convenient for everyday tasks. On the other hand, the MSI Stealth 17 offers superior performance with its advanced Intel processor and abundant memory, enhanced screen quality for more demanding visual tasks, and a more robust build for intensive use, but it is less portable and has a shorter battery life.

The MSI Stealth 17 is excellent for engineering and design, while the MSI Modern 14 is only fair.
The MSI Stealth 17 outshines the MSI Modern 14 in engineering and design with its superior central processing unit, greater memory and top-tier graphics unit, coupled with a higher quality display, all of which contribute significantly to computational and visual performance, crucial for such tasks. However, it is less portable and heavier than the Modern 14, making it less ideal for frequent travel; it also has louder operating noise and could be less comfortable for extended use off-desk due to its size and weight.

The MSI Stealth 17 has a better screen than the MSI Modern 14 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the MSI Modern 14 provides a balance of resolution and brightness adequate for daily tasks and some multimedia, while the MSI Stealth 17 delivers a superior visual experience with its higher resolution and brighter display that enhances clarity and visibility. In engineering and design, the Stealth 17's wider color gamuts ensure more accurate color representation, crucial for precise work, surpassing the Modern 14's more limited color range. However, both screens are not optimal for Gaming and 3D due to lower refresh rates which can result in less fluid visual motion, a drawback for fast-paced, graphic-intensive activities.

"The MSI Modern 14 is okay for school use. It's very compact, so it's easy to carry around. It has a sharp display, a spacious keyboard, and a reasonably large touchpad. Its Intel 13th Gen CPU and integrated graphics can handle general productivity tasks like text processing and web browsing; however, don't expect to do anything intensive like 3D modeling or physics simulations. Unfortunately, the battery lasts less than five hours of light use, and the display doesn't get bright enough to combat glare."
"The MSI Stealth 17 Studio is a laptop with a quiet RTX 4080 for almost every occasion. The MSI Stealth 17 Studio is equally capable of high-level media processing and playing current games. It remains pleasantly quiet, even if a few percentage points of power have had to be sacrificed in the process. But, it is not quite perfect: To some extent, the Stealth 17 is well thought out. It packs tons of graphics power and high-end components in a slim case. The laptop's cooling system can be set such that, noise-wise, it doesn't even reach low volume. However, small flaws cloud otherwise exceptionally positive impressions."
