The MSI Katana 15 is less expensive and offers good performance for general and engineering use, with reasonable battery life and a midrange gaming appearance. Its larger size and weight reduce portability, but it has a number pad and customizable RGB keyboard lighting. On the other hand, the Razer Blade 15 is more costly but provides better performance for 3D tasks, machine learning, and gaming. It has a higher resolution display with better color accuracy, making it suitable for creative professionals. It also boasts a more premium build, longer battery life, and is lighter and thinner for better portability, though it has no number pad. Give Feedback

The Razer Blade 15 is very good for engineering and design, while the MSI Katana 15 is good.
The Razer Blade 15 offers superior engineering and design capabilities mainly due to its more powerful Intel i7 processor and higher-resolution screen, enabling better performance and sharper visual details than MSI's Katana 15 with an Intel i5 processor and a lower-resolution display. Additionally, while both laptops have the same amount of RAM and similar GPUs, which are important for demanding tasks, the Razer's higher screen quality and larger battery offer a more enhanced experience for prolonged engineering work compared to the MSI Katana 15, which does have the advantage of being slightly more portable due to its lighter weight.

The Razer Blade 15 has a better screen than the MSI Katana 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
For general use, the Razer Blade 15's superior panel type, resolution, and brightness make for a more vivid and detailed viewing experience compared to the MSI Katana 15, which offers acceptable but less impressive visuals. In engineering and design, the Razer Blade 15's wider color gamuts ensure more accurate color reproduction crucial for professional work, whereas the MSI Katana 15's fair screen quality limits the fidelity of color-critical tasks. When it comes to 3D applications and gaming, however, both laptops have screens that may not satisfy due to poor refresh rates, despite their resolution and panel types being adequate for such tasks.

How the MSI Katana 15 and the Razer Blade 15 compare to other laptops
"The MSI Katana 15 B12 combines a Gen12 CPU with an RTX 4050, which is actually not a bad idea for a budget gamer. The CPU is anything but bad and the GPU in the Katana 15 proves to be significantly more efficient than last year's models. However, our main point of criticism for budget gamers is the price: while you can get budget laptops with RTX 3060 from around US$800, you pay a whole US$1,499.99 here! The efficiency advantages of the RTX 4050 do not justify this price premium."
"The 2022 Blade 15 offers roughly 15 to 25 percent faster graphics performance and 20 percent faster CPU performance over last year's Core i7-11800H and RTX 3080 model. Thankfully, the system doesn't need to run noticeably louder or warmer to achieve faster results, but both power consumption and battery life take a hit. The higher consumption in particular appears to be a trend amongst many 12th gen Core laptops including the Schenker Uniwill Technology GM7AG8P or MSI Vector GP66 when compared to their previous generation counterparts. We're also glad to not see below-average CPU performance which was the case for the 10th gen Core i7-10875H model."
