The MSI Katana 15 is less expensive than the MSI Raider GE76 and is lighter, making it more portable, yet it has less power for demanding tasks such as engineering and 3D software. The Raider GE76, however, offers superior performance with more RAM and a more powerful processor, which is better for intensive gaming, engineering, and creative work but comes with a higher price tag and heavier weight. The Raider also boasts a larger, higher-resolution screen with a faster refresh rate, ideal for vivid visuals and detail, while the Katana 15 prioritizes affordability and portability with a standard screen and build. The MSI Raider GE76 is very good for general use, while the MSI Katana 15 is good.
The MSI Katana 15, with its lighter weight and fair portability, is suitable for general use and provides ample performance through its mid-range CPU and RAM, adequate for typical tasks; however, its lower battery life limits extended use away from power sources compared to the MSI Raider GE76, which offers a significantly more powerful CPU and double the RAM, better screen resolution and quality, resulting in very good general use but at the expense of portability and weight.

The MSI Raider GE76 is very good for gaming and AI, while the MSI Katana 15 is good.
The MSI Katana 15, with an Nvidia RTX 4060 GPU and a screen refresh rate of 144Hz, offers solid gaming and 3D capabilities, while the MSI Raider GE76 steps up the performance with a higher-end Nvidia RTX 3080 Ti GPU and a superior 240Hz refresh rate, enhancing fluidity and detail in visuals. Both laptops have quality IPS displays; however, the Raider's higher screen resolution further sharpens image quality, and its more powerful processor handles complex tasks better, but it's heavier and less portable than the Katana 15.

The MSI Raider GE76 has a better screen than the MSI Katana 15 for general use, gaming and AI, engineering and design, content creation, and software development.
The MSI Katana 15's display, while adequate for tasks like web browsing and document editing, lacks the color accuracy and range needed for precise engineering work and doesn't have the high refresh rate desired for smooth rendering in gaming and 3D applications. The MSI Raider GE76 offers a high-resolution, bright display that appeals to general users and professionals in engineering and design due to its ability to represent colors accurately and vibrantly, but falls short for gaming and 3D purposes because of its lower refresh rate which is crucial for fluid motion. For users prioritizing general productivity and professional creative work, the Raider GE76's screen provides a superior viewing experience, while those focused on gaming might find its display underwhelming.

"The MSI Katana 15 B12 combines a Gen12 CPU with an RTX 4050, which is actually not a bad idea for a budget gamer. The CPU is anything but bad and the GPU in the Katana 15 proves to be significantly more efficient than last year's models. However, our main point of criticism for budget gamers is the price: while you can get budget laptops with RTX 3060 from around US$800, you pay a whole US$1,499.99 here! The efficiency advantages of the RTX 4050 do not justify this price premium."
"The MSI Raider GE76: with Alder Lake and RTX 3080 Ti to gaming heaven. Yes, MSI could improve some aspects (like the quality of the webcam), but the manufacturer offers a very convincing and balanced overall package. The biggest advantage is definitely the immense performance potential. The combination of Core i9-12900HK, GeForce RTX 3080 Ti, 32 GB DDR5 RAM and two NVMe SSDs offers a lot of performance for the next couple of years and plenty of power for 3D applications. Most titles would run smoothly on an external 4K screen no matter the quality preset. We came away impressed with the integrated 360 Hz panel's fast response times and good color accuracy."
