The MSI GF65 Thin, being less expensive, is a good choice if you want to save money and still get a capable laptop for a variety of tasks. However, if the MSI Katana 15 costs more, it may offer better performance or features that justify the extra expense. To decide, consider what you'll use the laptop for. If you need higher performance for gaming or intensive tasks, the Katana 15 could be worth the extra cost. If portability is crucial and your tasks are less demanding, the GF65 Thin's lower price and possibly lighter design might be more appealing. Remember, a higher cost doesn't always mean better value for your specific needs, so weigh the features of each model against what you actually need. Give Feedback

The MSI Katana 15 has a better screen than the MSI GF65 Thin for content creation, and software development.
The MSI GF65 Thin and MSI Katana 15 laptops feature displays that are adequate for everyday tasks such as browsing and document editing, but their resolution and brightness may not stand out in a crowded market. For engineering and design, these laptops offer fair screen quality but may lack in color accuracy and range, which are key for professionals who require precise color representation for their work. When it comes to gaming and 3D applications, both models fall short due to their subpar refresh rates which are integral for smooth and responsive visual experiences, even though their resolution and panel type are acceptable.

How the MSI GF65 Thin and the MSI Katana 15 compare to other laptops
"The MSI GF65 Thin offers a GeForce RTX 3060 on a budget. The MSI GF65 is a relatively inexpensive RTX 3060 laptop and, perhaps not coincidentally, it also comes with a slower-than-average RTX 3060 GPU. Other laptops we've tested thus far with the same GPU are about 10 to 15 percent faster. CPU performance is also slightly slower than average unless if users decide to enable Cooler Boost mode. Colors, black-white response times, Thunderbolt, and DisplayPort are either average or completely omitted. Gamers who want to maximize performance-per-dollar without sacrificing RAM or SSD upgradeability will find the lightweight MSI GF65 attractive."
"The MSI Katana 15 B12 combines a Gen12 CPU with an RTX 4050, which is actually not a bad idea for a budget gamer. The CPU is anything but bad and the GPU in the Katana 15 proves to be significantly more efficient than last year's models. However, our main point of criticism for budget gamers is the price: while you can get budget laptops with RTX 3060 from around US$800, you pay a whole US$1,499.99 here! The efficiency advantages of the RTX 4050 do not justify this price premium."
