For a balance of performance and portability with a focus on gaming and creative tasks, the MSI GF63 Thin is a solid choice, offering a dedicated Nvidia GPU and a larger screen within a lower midrange price point. However, it has a lower refresh rate and less battery life compared to the Surface Laptop. The Surface Laptop 6, on the other hand, is pricier but excels in portability, battery life, and has a touchscreen with higher resolution and refresh rate, making it ideal for general productivity and business use. It's also equipped with the latest Intel processor and Windows 11 Pro, ensuring up-to-date software capabilities. While it lacks a dedicated GPU, it's suitable for light gaming and everyday tasks. Consider the MSI for more intensive graphics work and gaming, and the Surface Laptop for superior mobility and business features. Give Feedback

NotebookCheck

Florian Glaser | January 2020
"If you leave aside the meagre port selection (no card reader, no DisplayPort, no Thunderbolt 3 or USB 3.1 Gen2), the fan control that could be improved (idle mode!) and the relatively dark and slow display, the MSI GF63 Thin 9SC does not have any major weaknesses. The 15-inch gamer is compact, has a low weight and offers a good price-to-performance ratio, which should please gamers that are looking for both a portable and an affordable gaming notebook. Input devices, battery life, case quality and performance are all appropriate for this purchase price."
